A major cable fault has affected homes and business in the village of Shepreth, the fault started on Wednesday morning, when engineers began looking in to the fault they realised that most of Meldreth road was affected , most customers were re connected by Friday morning but a few will be without a working phone until Monday at least

One family on Meldreth road said it is totally unacceptable, we will be without a phone for 4 days

A BT Engineer told Roysia Media that the problem is caused by old faulty aluminium cable, the cable is 40 years old and will have to be replaced
